Brown Calculus
Brown Calculus
Brown Calculus is an intergalactic duo who explore the soundscapes of the post-soul movement. Keyboardist and beat maker, Brown Calvin, and singer/songwriter, Brown Alice, are Geminis, illuminating the sacredness of Black music, seeking to bring about community on Earth and beyond. They reveal the connection between complicated time signatures and Black divinity, with a cosmic sound that remains grounded.
Bryson Cone
Bryson Cone
Bryson Cone started as a mixed media artist and comes from a background in collage and experimental music, which he honed into both pop song formats as well as installation and performance art. Cone has contributed to a number of musical projects over the years. Some of them include vocals/synth and writing with Fog Father, synths for Reptaliens (Captured Tracks), guitar and synths for Cat Hoch and a brief stint as live guitarist for Gary Wilson (Stones Throw).

While still undertaking occasional performance art / experimental solo sets, Bryson Cone's live show mainly leans toward sets in a traditional format with a full backing band. The live band features Thomas Mabus, Chris Hoganson, Cat Hoch, Bambi Browning, & Andy Rayborn.

Bryson Cone is cathartic, dramatic, funky, absurd, impressionistic bedroom pop. Cone sounds somewhere in the realm of a warped Prince B-side cassette tape recorded over by R Stevie Moore and then again by a Sade cover band with too many synths. Cone is misfit fatalist outsider pop. Cone is goth soul art rock space rock psychadelic american avant pop pop pop.
